Take a look at the things you plan to put into storage. You may already have an idea of the size of storage unit you want to rent, but keep in mind that you don’t want to just rent a storage unit that will fit all of your items, you want a unit where you can fit yourself inside with a little room to work. If you ever want to be able to get your items out, you don’t want to pack your storage space wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Many people get the smallest possible unit they can get in order to save money, and then wind up having to empty half of it to get to a box that’s in the back.
Do you have anything that’s climate sensitive? You may need a climate-controlled unit that’s indoors, as opposed to a generic garage-style unit that’s outdoors. Are your items valuable? You’ll likely want a unit that has good security and monitoring, and you’ll definitely want insurance on your storage unit. Check and see if your renter’s insurance or homeowner’s insurance policy covers items in a storage unit. If it doesn’t, see how much it would cost to add it, or consider buying insurance from the storage facility.
Drive-up Access Storage
Our drive-up access units range from 5×5 to 10×45 heated and unheated. Your goods will be protected in our heated units by forced-air electric furnaces that keep air moving 24 hours a day, all year long. The temperature is maintained above 50 degrees evenly throughout each unit with moisture control.
Inside-Access Storage
Choose a heated or unheated unit that opens onto a common hallway. These units are available from 5×5 to 10×15. A 5×5 unit is comparable to the size of a closet, while the 5′ x 10′ is comparable to a walk-in closet and will generally hold the same as pickup truck. 10×10’s and 10×15’s are comparable to an average sized bedroom. All hallways and units are lighted, with access available 7 days a week.
